Meet Our Jack Russell Terriers The short legged English Jack Russell ("shorties") are a shorter, calmer version of the taller variety of Jack Russell Terrier. These little terriers were initially bred for fox hunting and had to be small enough to fit into a saddle bag. In the hunt these small Jacks would chase down a hole after the fox. The huntsman could reach into the hole, grab the Jack by the short tail and pull out the little Jack hopefully with a fox attached! Fall 2025 Puppies! As a modern pet, JRTs make excellent companions in the barn, the garden, or in the house snuggling up to their owner. Pippin, Tink, and Zara love being part of any adventure - long distance traveling or a ride to the hardware store.
